How many bundles do I need for a full head?

The amount of bundles you'll need for a full install depends on how much density you need. Usually, 2 human hair bundles with a closure/frontal can make a full head. For longer lengths like over 20 inches, 3 human hair bundles with a closure/frontal are highly recommended.
 

Are the human hair bundles chemically processed?

No, CurlyMe Hair uses steam-processing to set the bundles' beautiful curl patterns without the damage of harsh chemicals. For safety reasons, we will disinfect the hair before making them into bundles, and then we will wash the hair. Unprocessed hair still has the cuticle intact, it has not been chemically processed. The hair is also usually from a single donor. Each strand of hair faces the same direction, it's not easy to cause tangling. The hair would also be considered remy hair, also known as "cuticle hair."
 

Are you bundles made of virgin human hair?

Yes, our bundles are 100% virgin human hair, they are remy hair grade, meaning that all cuticles are in alignment. This helps to reduce shedding, limits tangling, and maximizes the lifespan of your bundles. Here are two methods to test if your hair extensions are human hair: Test it by burning: The synthetic or fiber hair will be melted with the black smoke as soon as you burn it. But the 100% Remy human hair will immediately catch fire, burn nearly instantly curling into a little ball, and smell like burning hair. Use your fingers to feel: There is a layer of hair scales on the surface of the hair, it is a bit like a fish scale. When it is touched, it feels very smooth, but when you touch it in reverse, it feels not very smooth. This is also a very professional way to distinguish true human hair.

How to make a wig with bundles and closure/frontal?

1. Place a wig cap on the mannequin head. Figure out where the front and back of your future wig are going to be.
2. Measure your hair weaves before you sew them onto the cap. You can pin them down to see how many tracks you are going to need to make your wig. If you have one long track, we recommend you not to cut it up if you want to avoid hair shedding.
3. Sewing the lace closure/frontal into the front of the cap. Begin by securing it with pearl headed pins at the front of the wig cap, then use the needle and thread to sew it all the way around along the edge. Do not forget to make tight knots, especially at the beginning and the end of your stitching to make sure that the lace closure is secure.
4. Take your first track and start sewing it to the wig cap from one edge of your lace closure to the other along the bottom edge of the cap.
5. Once you have sewn all of your tracks all the way to the lace closure, sew the last track to the lace closure. Secure it with a knot and cut off the excess track.
6. Pluck lace closure/frontal. Tweeze the hairs in the lace closure to make it look like your real hair.
7. When you are done with the sewing and your wig is starting to look like a wig, take it off the wig head and cut off the excess wig cap that is peeking from under the lace.
8. Turn your wig inside out ad sew in your wig band and combs. There should be at least one comb on each side of the head and preferably one at the back.
9. At this step, your wig is pretty much done. You can use some moist hair care products on your wig.

Tip: If you would like to color your hair I highly recommend doing that before constructing your wig.
 

Can the hair be bleached/permed/dyed?

The answer is YES. Our hair extensions are made with 100% human hair. They can be permed, dyed, bleached anyway. But be remember that all of the electric treatments with hair will cause varying degrees of damage. so if you are not good at it, pls let the professional hairdresser do it to make sure there is no damage to human hair.
 

Is it ok to sleep with your wig on?

Sleeping in your wig is not generally recommended by wig experts. If you have to sleep with your wig, please follow these tips to protect your wig during sleep.

1. Wrap your head. Your wig will be damaged by too much friction. Friction can deteriorate the fibers and cause a loss of hair over time. It also leads to tangles, frizz, and dryness, all of which are a pain. To protect your wig from friction, lay the hair flat against your head and pin or tie it into place. Then, wrap your head in a silk or satin scarf. This will keep your unit in place while also protecting it from friction.
2. Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase. In this way, your wig will be protected from friction and frizz to the greatest extent. But beware that you may end up with more tangles if you tend to move around in your sleep.
3. Brush Your Wig Thoroughly in the morning. Carefully brush or comb your wig to remove any tangles that may have formed overnight. This will prevent the hair from matting or frizzing over the course of the rest of the day. If your hair looks flat in some areas, use a little water, leave-in conditioner, or wig spray and gently fluff it.

Try not to sleep in your wig often. Over time, all that friction will lead to split ends, tangles, matting, and other issues. In short, it'll shorten the lifespan of your wig. It's not worth it!
 

How to wash the human hair wigs?

Wig washing is absolutely essential if you want it to last you a long time. Let's learn together how to wash a human hair wig step-by-step:

1. Begin by gently detangling the hair using a soft paddle brush.
2. Mix the shampoo in a basin of cold water, turn the wig inside out, and immerse it in the water. Gently swirl without rubbing the hair together, and let the wig soak for 5 minutes.
3. Rinse the wig gently in cold water.
4. Apply deep conditioner on the hair directly, leave it in for 30 mins to 1 hour and rinse the wig out completely.
5. After rinsing the wig, scrunch the curls back into place by squeezing the hair gently from the bottom up.
6. Apply a small amount of natural oil while the hair is still damp. And lay the wig flat on a clean dry towel to air dry completely.

We suggest the buyer use the deeply nourish and repair shampoo products. Such as the Pantene and Dove repair hair shampoo and treatment. If the buyer can make the Hair steamer once a week, the hair will be softer and have more luster.

When should I use the hair care oil?

The hair care oil is used to keep the hair more softly and add luster. Most of the customer uses it, but get more matt and tangle. So when we use the oil, we need to give the hair good care, such as after we wash the hair, after conditioner and spray the nutrient water, when the hair is almost air dry, we can use one or two drops of hair care oil on the hair surface especially the ends. 1. Blow dryers: Hair Dryers typically heat to between 80 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit. Stylists usually suggest keeping the setting on a moderate-high setting. It will dry your hair faster without any prominent damage. We usually suggest wig should be air dry after washing, but if you really need it to be dry in a short time, please strictly control the temperature.
2. Curling irons: The temperature selection depends on the type of hair you have. A standard iron has a range of 200 degrees to 360 degrees Fahrenheit. For thick textured hair, you can go for a high temperature between 200 to 250 degrees Fahrenheit. While with thin textured hair, it is best not to go above 200 degrees because of their sensitivity.
3. Flat irons: Straightening your hair requires more heat than curling. So, flat irons work on higher heat levels in comparison to curling irons. Straighteners often work between the range of 250 to 400 Fahrenheit. For thicker hair, the range of 300 to 340 is safe. While for thinner hair, remaining below 290 degrees Fahrenheit is ideal.
